       The firm of Coghlan & McNally was established in January of 1983. The practice is located on the Southside of Dublin City approximately 2 1/2 miles from the City Centre. The firm supplies a comprehensive range of legal services to its clients with special emphasis in the areas of employment law, debt collection, family law and general civil litigation. In addition to the foregoing the firm provides a full range of services in the areas of conveyancing (both corporate and private), probate and commercial law.

The firm acts commonly in a Plaintiff capacity but has also been retained as panel Solicitors by a number of insurance companies. The firm also acts as a consultant to a number of large employers, particularly in the area of employment law.

The principal of the firm is Michael P. Coghlan M.A. F.C.I.Arb.. Mr. Coghlan is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin. Having qualified as a Solicitor in 1978 and having specialised in general litigation Mr. Coghlan formed the partnership of Coghlan & McNally in January of 1983. He has been principal of the firm since January of 1989.

Mr. Coghlan was appointed Vice Chairman of the Employment Appeals Tribunal (the body in Ireland which determines statutory employment disputes) in 1984. He held that position for a period of 5 years. Mr. Coghlan has since specialised in the area of employment law and advises a number of employers upon a consultancy basis.

In 1997 Mr. Coghlan was appointed a member of the Valuation Tribunal (the body in Ireland which assesses rateable valuations for commercial premises). He held that position for a period of five years.

Mr. Coghlan is a Chartered Arbitrator and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is a member of the Irish Society for Labour Law. He is also on the Panel of Mediators recently appointed by the Private Residential Tenancies Board.
